8 New Childcare Graduates in Regensburg as Demand Rises

Eight individuals have successfully completed a qualification course for child daycare in Regensburg. The course, which spanned 160 hours and covered both basic and advanced training, culminated in the graduates receiving their certificates on July 25, 2025. The course was praised by local officials, including Holger Loos, Gabriele Heindl, Regina Donhauser, and Susanne Mangold-Knecht.

The course not only equipped the graduates with the skills to work in daycare but also qualified them to found a large daycare facility. The next course is set to begin on September 12, 2025, and will be completed before Christmas. Classes will be held every Friday afternoon and Saturday.

The course is designed for individuals interested in working with children in daycare or kindergarten settings. Participants typically have a secondary school diploma and may need a practicum agreement with a daycare provider. Upon graduation, they can work in (large) daycare or further qualify for an assistant position in a daycare facility. Interested parties can also become self-employed or employed in child daycare, with individual prerequisites clarified in a personal conversation.

The completion of this course comes at a time when the need for childcare for children under three in Regensburg is expected to rise in the coming years. The next course begins soon, offering another opportunity for individuals to gain the necessary qualifications to meet this growing demand.
