We are excited to share details about a unique opportunity for students enrolled in Spanish, Linguistics & Translation Studies, or Teaching degree programs. This Joint Study Program, coordinated by Jannis Harjus, is now open for applications at the University of Alicante (UABJO), Spain.

1. About the Program

2. Eligibility

  • Must be a student in one of the specified degree programs (Spanish, Linguistics & Translation Studies, or Teaching).
  • Must demonstrate Spanish proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Should belong to a home university that has an active Erasmus or other international mobility agreement with the University of Alicante.
  • Check whether your home university is an Aurora Network participant, as this might offer additional scholarship/academic benefits.

3. Application Process

Step 1: Check Home Institution Requirements - Contact your university’s International Office or Erasmus coordinator. - Confirm program eligibility, nomination procedures, and deadlines.

Step 2: Nomination by Home Institution - Your home university will nominate you through the Erasmus+ or International Mobility platform. - Ensure your academic advisor confirms your fit for the target program (Spanish, Linguistics & Translation Studies, or Teaching). - Submit your language certificate (Spanish B2 or higher).

Step 3: Application to University of Alicante (UABJO) - After nomination, complete the University of Alicante’s online application form for incoming exchange students. - Upload required documents: ID/passport, transcript of records, Spanish language certificate (B2), motivation letter, CV (if required).

Step 4: University of Alicante Acceptance - The host university evaluates your documents for eligibility and language proficiency. - You may be asked to attend an online interview or placement test for language evaluation.

Step 5: Learning Agreement & Enrollment - Once accepted, finalize the Learning Agreement with your home and host institutions. - Enroll officially in the courses for Spanish B2 level and related modules within the Spanish, Linguistics & Translation Studies, or Teaching programs.

4. Additional Information

  • Duration: Usually one or two semesters (fall or spring), depending on the mobility program.
  • Academic Credits: Courses taken will count towards your degree at your home institution (ECTS credits).
  • Support Services: The University of Alicante offers orientation, Spanish language support, and cultural activities.
  • Financial Aid: Erasmus grants are usually available. Additional funding may come from Aurora Networks scholarship schemes if applicable.
