That's right, peeps! Brace yourselves for some long-deserved relaxation, as the 2024-2025 academic year is set to wrap up earlier for students across Kazakhstan. Your last school day will be on May 23, according to reports from our favorite web sources.

But don't get too excited just yet—the official end of the academic year falls on May 25, a Sunday. So you'll still have a bit of work to do on the 23rd, mainly participating in the nationwide "Bilimim - Otanymy" class hour.

Over 3.9 million students nationwide will be saying their goodbyes, with more than 217,000 eleventh-graders marking a significant farewell to their school days. The Ministry of Education highlighted this milestone.

Exams and Key Dates

Once the academic process comes to a halt, ninth and eleventh-grade students will face state exams. The Ministry has approved a schedule to help families plan their summer sans surprises.

Graduations

Eleventh-grade graduation ceremonies will take place on May 23 or 24, depending on the decision of each school's administration. The Ministry of Education strongly advises moderation and avoiding extravagant celebrations.

"To ensure safety and equal conditions for all students, it's not recommended to organize lavish events, collect money, or go on car trips and other forms of celebration that exceed the school format," the department warned.

Earlier, Minister of Education Ganibey Beisembayev pleaded with parents not to turn school celebrations into extravagant events and not to cultivate a wasteful mindset in their children.

New Academic Year

After the exams, students can look forward to approximately three-month vacations. The new academic year will begin around September 1, marking another stage of learning for most and the start of adult life for graduates.

The Ministry of Education encourages parents to discuss their children's summer plans in advance, ensure their leisure time, and take care of their safety, especially during vacations and trips.

By the way, over 10,000 school camps and 512 tent camps are planned to open in Kazakhstan this summer. By 2025, various health, rest, and employment programs are expected to cover 3.1 million children across Kazakhstan, including over 500,000 from socially vulnerable categories. With the support of the "Qazaqstan Haly" fund, 10,000 children will have the opportunity to rest for free.
