Berufspatenprojekt Helps Students Ace Job Interviews

The Berufspatenprojekt, in collaboration with the youth employment office and the Chamber of Crafts Kassel, recently hosted the 'Fit for the Job Interview' training. Despite initial technical hurdles and appointment cancellations, the event provided valuable experience for students transitioning from school to work life.

Eleven experienced mentors from diverse fields acted as sparring partners for the students, who were primarily from BÜA classes at vocational schools in the Region Kassel. The project involved seven vocational schools and was well-received by all parties involved.

Students could book online job interviews with fictional companies via a booking portal. After each interview, mentors provided feedback and tips for further job application activities. The Berufspatenprojekt, which promotes vocational entry education for youth with migration or refugee backgrounds, is looking for more volunteers to mentor young people in their career transitions. Interested parties can contact coordinator Brigitte Vogler for more information.

The 'Fit for the Job Interview' training was a successful initiative that equipped students with essential job interview skills. All parties agreed that the project should be continued next year to further support young people in their transition from school to work life.
