Brief Education Sessions Held for Students at the University of Art and Design Higher School
MuseumsUni Mönchengladbach is set to host an enlightening series of lectures, with six professors from Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) and two guest lecturers set to deliver the talks.
The lineup includes Professors Dr. Michael Heber and Dr. Ferdinand Hermanns, who will delve into the sustainability of electric cars. Meanwhile, Professor Dr. Christian Schmitz will explore the fascinating development of paint pigments from flower dyes.
But that's not all! Professor Dr. Martin Wenke from the Economics department will present a thought-provoking lecture titled "Unchecked Growth - At Any Cost?", while Professor Dr. Dorothea Sattler from the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Münster will focus on the papal election, the conclave, and challenges facing the global church in her talk "White Smoke or Habemus Papam."
If creative advertising is more your thing, Professor Richard Jung from the Design department will discuss its evolution from posters to social media. On the other hand, Professor Dr. Donja Amirpur, from HSNR, will present a lecture titled "Where Are You Really From?", discussing the power of distinctions and the perpetuation of racism.
Lastly, Professor Dr. Katharina Erhardt from Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf will discuss the potential threats of the new US tariff policy on prosperity in her lecture "Is the New US Tariff Policy Threatening Our Prosperity?". Additionally, Professor Dr. Nils Kopal will reveal methods for deciphering encrypted letters from the past in his talk "Cracking Secret Messages."
The lectures are designed for middle and upper school students and will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 to 1 pm in the Rittersaal. Registration for the event is required through Museum Schloss Rheydt at 02161/25 26 81.
