Call for Blog Writers! Everyone is Encouraged to Be a Researcher and Contribute to Our Platform

Princeton University is inviting students to apply for the role of correspondent for its blog, offering an opportunity to become more involved in the vibrant research culture at the institution. The application deadline is set for noon on Wednesday, April 25.

All Princeton students, regardless of their academic focus, are considered researchers during their academic career. This role on the blog provides a platform to showcase their research interests and experiences.

To apply, students are required to send a cover letter, a sample post, and a resume to Dr. Poussart at [email protected]. While the exact requirements may vary, typical application processes for similar roles in student-run blogs or publications often involve submitting a writing sample or portfolio of published work, a statement of interest, and possibly an interview or overview of relevant experience in journalism or blogging.

The research interests for the correspondents range from social sciences, to engineering, to humanities, and natural sciences. Prior experience in these areas is not necessary, but a passion for learning and sharing about research is essential.

The blog has been a great experience for many students, offering opportunities to meet new people and learn about research opportunities and resources on campus. Ellie Breitfeld, the current Chief Correspondent of the Princeton blog, is a testament to this, having found the role a rewarding and enriching experience.

For more information about the application process, students are encouraged to visit the Office of Undergraduate Research website. The blog encourages applications for the 2018-2019 academic year, and the application process does not seem to have changed since the previous announcement.

Becoming a correspondent for the Princeton blog is not only a chance to share your own research journey but also to encourage others to get involved in the university's thriving research culture.

  1. Engaging with Princeton University's research culture can further students' education-and-self-development, particularly through the senior thesis or undergraduate research, as demonstrated by the opportunity to become a correspondent for its blog.
  2. This role not only provides a platform for students to showcase their research interests and experiences but also offers personal-growth opportunities such as learning about research opportunities and resources on campus.
  3. The correspondent role in the Princeton blog supports learning and sharing about research, fostering a culture of collaborative learning and contributing to the growth of the university's vibrant research community.
