CII Unveils 2022-23 Initiatives: Skills, Business Efficiency, and Internationalisation
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has announced a series of initiatives for the year 2022-23, focusing on growth, competitiveness, sustainability, and internationalisation. The theme, 'Beyond India@75', signals a commitment to driving progress and development.
CII will expand its Model Career Centres from 40 to 60 and increase multiskill institutes from 4 to 9, aiming to skill 1.5 lakh youth and help place over 2 lakhs in the coming year. Additionally, it will set up Migrant Labour Facilitation Centres in four cities to support migrant workers.
To assess and improve the business environment, CII is formulating a Cost of Doing Business (CoDB) Index. This will help identify areas needing reform for enhanced efficiency and lower costs. The Indian economy, with an 8.7% GDP growth rate in 2021-22, stands to benefit from such initiatives.
CII will also collaborate with the logistics sector to boost operational efficiency and develop logistics policies for five more states. Furthermore, it plans to open new overseas offices in 2022/23 to promote trade and investments, although the specific countries were not mentioned in the available search results.
CII's comprehensive approach for 2022-23 includes strengthening healthcare at the district and block levels, providing analytical policy inputs, and facilitating access to capital for various sectors. By increasing investment to GDP ratio and maintaining robust consumption, CII aims to foster long-term growth and internationalisation.
