City of Solingen's Sparkasse bank provides tuition-free education via ubiMaster program
Solingen’s City Sparkasse has launched an innovative digital on-demand tutoring app, ubiMaster, to support regional education for its young customers. This initiative, aimed at promoting learning and supporting academic success, has already garnered a positive response from the community.
- Accessibility and Convenience: With ubiMaster, young customers can access tutoring help anytime and anywhere, making learning more flexible and adaptable to their needs outside traditional classroom hours.
- Targeted Regional Focus: As a local offering, ubiMaster likely incorporates educational content and support aligned with regional curricula, ensuring that students receive relevant and contextual assistance.
- Support for Education Goals: By providing learning assistance, ubiMaster supports the bank’s commitment to community development and youth education, potentially fostering stronger relationships with young customers and their families.
- User Engagement: Personalized tutoring via the app is expected to boost student motivation and engagement, key drivers of academic success.
Since its launch in September, 296 students have already registered for free use of ubiMaster. The City Sparkasse Solingen has invested around 100,000 euros in tutoring offers for Solingen students.
The service is aimed at young Sparkasse customers aged 10 to 19 who have a checking account with the Sparkasse. Registration for ubiMaster is straightforward and does not require a contractual obligation for the target group. The last four digits of the account number are directly verified during registration.
The app offers individual support in subjects like mathematics, German, English, physics, and chemistry. Support is provided via chat or video through the app, without long waiting times or travel. Access to ubiMaster for newly opened checking accounts will be activated from the following Wednesday.
The usual subscription cost of ubiMaster is 149 euros, but it is free for young Sparkasse customers due to the bank’s support. Interested parties can register for ubiMaster using a discount code provided during registration.
Sebastian Greif, a member of the board of City Sparkasse Solingen, states that the initiative significantly contributes to education promotion in the region. The initiative is well-received, as shown by increasing user numbers and positive feedback.
