Class of 2027 Shares Meal with President Rougeau
In an effort to foster a closer connection between students and the university administration, President Vincent Rougeau hosted a dinner for the Class of 2026 at his residence on April 22nd, 2024. The event, which took place over two tables, saw President Rougeau and his wife, Dr. Robin Kornegay-Rougeau, seated among the students.
The dinner provided an opportunity for students to engage with the President in a casual setting, discussing various topics that included study abroad, hometowns, campus teams, campus life, and ideas about the Rotman's property. The image of the dinner was courtesy of Viveca Stucke '26.
Julianne Hawley '27 expressed her appreciation for the event, stating that she enjoyed the dinner and the opportunity to share her opinions about the Rotman's property. Unfortunately, no further details about the plans for the Rotman's property were provided during the dinner or in subsequent discussions.
The dinner was attended by a select group of students, with around twenty students in total. Joey Abrams '23 interviewed President Rougeau in "President's Hour", a series that delves into the President's thoughts and plans for the university.
This was not the first time President Rougeau had shown his eagerness to hear students' perspectives on the property and the future of Holy Cross. On April 3, 2027, the Class of 2027 had dinner with President Rougeau and Dr. Kornegay-Rougeau, continuing the tradition of engaging students in discussions about the university's future.
President Rougeau expressed his excitement about the future of the campus, mentioning his plans to expand down the hill with more space and opportunities. The students who attended the dinner found the event to be a pleasure, encouraging other students to attend similar events if given the opportunity.
