Eugen-Bolz-Gymnasium Senior Prank: Students Take Responsibility for Graffiti Incident
In a surprising turn of events, the graduating class of Eugen-Bolz-Gymnasium in Rottenburg found themselves in hot water after a senior prank involving spray paint on the school building. Principal Andreas Greis, initially shocked by the incident, now believes it was an accident.
The students are now responsible for removing the graffiti, a task that will take them several days, even in the sweltering heat. They are being assisted by a professional painter and his employee.
The cost of the clean-up job has been estimated to be 7,000 euros, but the class is working together to cover the expenses. According to student representative Heege, the remaining amount will be covered by the class fund and donations collected at the prom.
The city donated five buckets of paint for the clean-up, demonstrating support for the school and its students during this challenging time. The fundraising campaign on GoFundMe, initiated by Heege, had raised 4,785 euros by Monday. However, the campaign has since been stopped.
Heege believes that the class's bond has become stronger due to the incident. The students are taking the situation seriously, adopting the mindset: "We messed up, now we'll make it right."
The spray paint used was assumed to be washable, but it proved to be permanent once dry. This unfortunate turn of events means that the class is also responsible for covering the cost of the painter's labor.
Principal Greis hopes that future classes won't have the same idea. He and the school management have managed to reach a good agreement with the city, the school's sponsor, ensuring that the incident will not severely impact the school's resources or operations.
It's a lesson learned the hard way for the graduating class, but they are determined to make things right. Their actions serve as a reminder that while senior pranks may seem like harmless fun, they can have serious consequences.
