Title: Chatting About Society and Coexistence: Leiza's Dialogue Series on Democracy

Whetting appetites for open, constructive chats about society's hot-button issues, the Leibniz Centre for Archaeology (Leiza) in Mainz has debuted a new dialogue series called "Dialogues for Democracy."

Alexandra W. Busch, Leiza's General Director, explains, "Our vision is to delve into the intricacies of people's connections and interdependencies through our archaeological research and spark conversations rooted in societal concerns."

Tying into its everlasting exhibition, the big question on everyone's minds - "What's the secret to successful living together?" - is central to the dialogue series.

"With societal tensions at an all-time high - polarization, distrust, and uncertainty - people are anxious," shared Busch. She continues, "Our aim is to offer new perspectives and prompt people to ponder what they themselves can do for harmonious coexistence, as well as what our society requires."

Each event will showcase its unique format.

Some Thought-Provoking Fishbowl Discussion Starters

Kicking off on May 15th is a "Fishbowl" discussion, featuring Rhineland-Palatinate Minister President Alexander Schweitzer (SPD), Gesine Schwan, education researcher Olaf Köller, author Hülya Özkan, and Busch. The dialogue will be an open exchange, with guests taking turns to discuss pressing matters.

Each participant will bring their unique viewpoint to address the essential elements for coexistence and how to bolster societal unity once more. Around 200 interested individuals can attend, but registration with Leiza is required.

A Peek into the Future with Tristan Horx

Foresight futurist Tristan Horx takes center stage on June 14th during Mainzer Museumsnacht, discussing the dialogue among generations.
