Dresden Launches ExciteLab Accelerator to Boost Tech Scene
Dresden's tech scene is abuzz with the launch of ExciteLab, a six-month accelerator program kicking off in October 2024. Applications are open until August 27, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the city's development as an economic and innovation hub.
ExciteLab, part of TUD|excite, aims to bolster regional competitiveness by connecting science and industry. It's a joint venture between Leipzig SpinLab and TU Dresden, supported by leading companies like Infineon, Mazars, and ZEISS. The program centers on key technologies such as IoT, semiconductors, robotics, sensors, and quantum computing. Participants can anticipate one-on-one mentoring, access to start-up communities, pilot programs, industry events, and funding of at least 6,000 euros.
Dresden's emergence as a high-tech hotspot is evident with new entries and expansions by Infineon, TSMC, and Jenoptik. ExciteLab, operated by Dresden Exists e.V., plays a pivotal role in this growth, promoting innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship. It partners with universities, research institutes, economic networks, and international partners to create a dynamic innovation ecosystem.
The launch of ExciteLab underscores Dresden's dedication to driving high-tech innovation. With its extensive support for start-ups and strategic alliances, the city is well-positioned to become a major player in the global tech industry.
