The new Seedhouse Incubator in Osnabrück, Germany, has opened its doors, focusing on supporting startups across the entire lifecycle, particularly in the farm, food (AgriFood), and digital sectors. Funded by the state of Lower Saxony, the incubator aims to foster innovation by combining digital technologies, knowledge transfer, and entrepreneurial skills to create a comprehensive platform for forward-looking ideas and startups in these industries.

Minister Tonne, Lower Saxony's Minister of Economics, visited the new Seedhouse Incubator to express his support for its continued development and the role Osnabrück plays in fostering startups in Lower Saxony. The minister was joined by Michael Kiesewetter, CEO of NBank, during the official launch.

The new location offers modern, comfortable workspace on three floors, with the current teams including Prefiro, NUNOS, kubion, CompanyCheck AI, simmetry.ai, UMYNO, and FluIDect. These teams were present for the minister's visit to showcase the potential and thematic focus of the incubator.

Key focus areas for the Seedhouse Incubator include AgriFood sector innovation, digital technologies, and knowledge transfer to accelerate startup growth and ecosystem development. The incubator also supports startups from idea development to growth, offering educational programs like the Seedhouse Startup School and resources like the Tinyhouse and Startup Playbook.

Seedhouse stands out by combining sector-specific expertise in agriculture and food with digital innovation, supported by strong regional and state backing in Lower Saxony. The incubator has strategic partnerships with local organizations like IHK Osnabrück - Emsland - Grafschaft Bentheim and Stadtwerke Osnabrück AG under the DigitalHub Niedersachsen funding. It also hosts major events such as the innovate!convention to gather innovators and experts across the AgriFood sector, shaping industry futures.

The incubator supports projects with significant development potential, long-term prospects, and scientific foundation. Teams are selected based on strict criteria to foster high-tech startups with substantial innovative content. The European Union's EFRE program co-finances the funding for the Seedhouse Incubator, with the state of Lower Saxony providing a symbolic grant of 500,000 euros per year.

The Seedhouse Incubator is one of six high-tech incubators in Lower Saxony that supports technology-driven startups. It has moved to a new location near Katharinenkirche in the city center of Osnabrück, reflecting its commitment to being at the heart of the startup ecosystem in the region. Minister Tonne praised the development of Osnabrück as a startup location with a high success rate during his speech, emphasizing the importance of technology-oriented startups for the entire region.
