In the Guwahati regional office of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), a unique mentorship program called 'Each One Reach One' has been making a significant impact on the lives of students. This initiative, launched to provide support for students facing academic, emotional, and behavioural challenges, has been successful in its first year[1][2][3].

The program, which has been ongoing for a year now, has benefited over 2,000 students across 42 KVs. Among these students, 183 Class 10 students achieved a remarkable 99.5% pass rate, and 285 Class 12 students recorded a 98.6% success rate[1][2]. The program has not only improved students' academic performance but has also helped bridge emotional and developmental gaps.

Initially, 29.4% of students struggled with literacy skills, 21.7% had issues in STEM subjects, 12.6% faced attention and focus difficulties, and 9.1% showed emotional and behavioural concerns[1]. However, with the personalized mentorship provided by teachers, principals, vice-principals, headmasters, and even assistant commissioners, these students have shown marked progress[2][3].

One student, Mofida from KV IIT Guwahati, overcame performance anxiety, social anxiety, disconnect, lack of self-confidence, and sleeping and eating disorders with mentorship[4]. Another student, Keya from 'Balvatika-3', improved her ability to sit still and write[5]. Shristi, a Class-10 student, received help with both academic subjects and personal issues, leading to improved performance[4].

The 'Each One Reach One' program was inspired by the National Education Policy 2020 and was initiated by Chandrashekhar Azad, Deputy Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Guwahati regional office[6]. The program allows teachers to adopt students based on individual needs, fostering personalized mentor-mentee relationships that have continued into a second year for some students. This grassroots engagement has created supportive and responsive learning environments to help students manage exam anxieties, peer and parental pressure, and home difficulties[2][3].

The 'Each One Reach One' initiative has gained nationwide attention and is being replicated by some Kendriya Vidyalayas in their own regions. The program's success lies in its teacher-driven approach, which allows for tailored, sustained mentorship for students with diverse challenges[1][2][3][4][5].
