Elected ESG Manager Joins Board of Sustainability Makers Association
Sustainability Makers, the Italian association of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) managers, has announced a significant change in direction as they voice their opinion on the new CSDD directive on the duty of care, recently approved by the European Parliament.
In a recent development, Marisa Parmigiani, the head of sustainability and stakeholder management at the Unipol group since 2010 and director of the Unipolis Foundation, has been reconfirmed as the president for another term. Under her leadership, Sustainability Makers, previously known as Csr Manager Network, underwent a name change during its past three-year term.
The new leadership aims to change Sustainability Makers' involvement in the consultation phases of European norms, reflecting the accelerated pace of sustainability regulation from Brussels in recent years. Sustainability Makers, with its 250 sector professionals as members, had not been very active in these phases in the past.
In a move to strengthen its social role, Sustainability Makers has altered its legal status to a Third Sector Entity. The new board, comprising nine members, includes four new faces: Filippo Bocchi from the Hera group, James Osborne of Lundquist, Ida Schillaci of Yamamay, and Ylenia Tommasato of Bolton Group.
The reconfirmed members include Margherita Macellari of Accenture, Marco Stampa of Saipem, Claudia Strasserra of Bureau Veritas Italia, and Davide Tassi of Enav. The new leadership will focus on training and empowerment.
While specific details about the strategic focus of the new board members were not available in the current search results, based on typical practices in similar sustainability-related governance contexts, they are expected to advance ESG integration, promote sustainable business practices, and encourage collaborations to drive long-term value creation and positive societal impact.
For accurate and updated information on the new board members and their strategic focus, direct consultation of Sustainability Makers’ official communications such as their website, press releases, or recent announcements would be necessary.
