Case Western Reserve University Introduces New Accessibility Tools in Canvas
Case Western Reserve University has introduced two new tools, UDOIT and SensusAccess, into the Canvas learning platform to enhance course accessibility. These tools replace the previously offered Canvas Ally.
UDOIT: Your Accessibility Companion for Faculty and Support Staff
UDOIT is an accessibility checker designed specifically for faculty and support staff. It scans entire courses in Canvas to identify potential accessibility issues such as text color contrast problems or the use of color alone for emphasis. Through a user-friendly interface called UFIXIT, UDOIT provides guidance on how to fix these issues. UDOIT automatically scans course content when accessed and allows manual rescanning for updated material.
SensusAccess: Empowering Diverse Learning Needs
SensusAccess, on the other hand, allows students, faculty, and staff to convert course materials into various alternative file formats, making content accessible to diverse needs.
Both UDOIT and SensusAccess are now available to members of the Case Western Reserve University community via Canvas.
