Foundation of Bulat Utemuratov initiates teacher training at Jas Leader Academy
In an innovative approach to leadership education, the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation has initiated the Jas Leader Akademiiasy program. This unique initiative aims to foster and develop leadership skills among students in grades 5-11 across Turkestan, Turkestan region, and Shymkent.
The program, which emphasises an equal learning environment, positions trainers on the same level as participants. This approach, unlike traditional methods, eliminates any sense of superiority, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning atmosphere, where everyone learns from each other.
Over 100 teachers from 50 pilot schools in these regions are currently participating in a one-month training session to familiarise themselves with the Jas Leader Akademiiasy program. This comprehensive training equips them with skills such as communication, public speaking, time planning and management, self-presentation, and building self-confidence.
The training, conducted in an accessible and interactive format, has already begun on July 26. The teachers are being trained to become future Jas Leader Akademiiasy trainers, and upon completion, they will be equipped to conduct elective classes in their schools using the Jas Leader Akademiiasy program.
One participant from Turkestan shared that the training has allowed them to view their profession in a new light, enabling them to be not just a teacher, but also a mentor to their students. This shift in perspective is a testament to the transformative potential of the Jas Leader Akademiiasy program.
The program has developed methodical aids in the Kazakh language, and teachers who have completed the training will receive a full set of materials for further work with 5-11 grade students for the next academic year.
This initiative is part of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation's broader efforts to empower over 40,000 Kazakh students. The director of the foundation, Marat Aitmagambetov, has emphasised the crucial role of teachers in the Jas Leader Akademiiasy program.
As the first cohort of over 15,000 students in these regions embark on their Jas Leader Akademiiasy journey, the program promises to make a significant impact on the leadership landscape of these regions, nurturing a new generation of confident, skilled, and compassionate leaders.
The Jas Leader Akademiiasy program, an initiative of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, promotes education-and-self-development and learning by creating an equal learning environment where trainers and participants collaborate and support each other. The comprehensive training equips teachers with various skills, such as communication, public speaking, and building self-confidence, with the aim of nurturing a new generation of confident, skilled, and compassionate leaders.
