Four Schools Honoured for Health Promotion Commitment in Wittekindskreis
Four schools in the Wittekindskreis have been honoured for their commitment to health promotion. The 'Healthy Schools' awards were presented to Ev. Grundschule Löhne-Obernbeck, Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg, Grundschule Westerenger, and Erich-Kästner-Gesamtschule. Teacher Katrin Wessel and Daniel Gieselmann received the award on behalf of their respective schools.
The 'Healthy Schools in the Wittekindskreis' program, supported by Kreis-Gesundheitsamt, recognises schools that implement healthcare measures. Renata Lleshi, an employee of the health department, and sports scientist Pascal Kramer presented the certificates. Pascal led exercises to enhance students' coordination, concentration, learning ability, and motivation.
At Ev. Grundschule Löhne-Obernbeck, students learned about dental health, healthy nutrition, and social training with external experts' support. To be recognised, schools must implement at least three health insurance measures and one for teaching staff's health. Interested schools can find more information at the Gesundheitskonferenz's business office or by contacting Renata Lleshi.
The 'Healthy Schools' program aims to support schools in promoting health and prevention activities. This year, four schools were honoured for their commitment, with Ev. Grundschule Löhne-Obernbeck receiving the 'Healthy School in the Wittekindskreis' award. The program continues to encourage and support schools in creating healthier learning environments.
