The chimps at Gut Aiderbichl were once used for lab research due to their genetic similarity to humans by a pharmaceutical company. After the experiments were halted in 1997, the corporation funded an ape facility in Safaripark Gänserndorf, but it went bankrupt. That's when Gut Aiderbichl took charge of these traumatized chimps, providing them a second chance.

Helping HandsThe students cater to their parents and honorary guests during the event, imparting the valuable lesson that they, too, can make a difference in the world. In the past, they've managed to gather up to 800 euros at a single "Chimpanzee Dinner" evening. That's enough to feed a chimpanzee for an entire year!
