Gathering on "Regarding Kuban Citizens - Russia's Influence" unfolds in Krasnodar
In a recent visit to the Krasnodar State Museum-Reserve Felitsyn, world boxing champion Dmitry Pirog shared his experiences and stories with young Cossacks, emphasising the importance of such interactions between young people and successful individuals from humble beginnings.
The meeting, which was part of the "About People of Kuban - About the Strength of Russia" project by the Kuban Cossack Host, saw Pirog hand over his boxing awards and gloves to the museum. The museum, known for its dedication to preserving local history and culture, will expand its collection with these significant items.
Yuri Bunin, head of the history and ethnography department at the Felitsyn Museum-Reserve, stated that such meetings are crucial for young people to meet successful individuals who come from small towns. Bunin believes that these encounters inspire and motivate young people to strive for their dreams.
Pirog, a former professional boxer, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sport, and a member of the Crimean Regional Society of Cossacks, visited the Felitsyn Museum in Krasnodar as part of initiatives to document and celebrate the people of Kuban, their historical significance, and their contribution to Russia’s strength and identity.
The "Kuban Cossack" festival in Sochi, an event that involves a procession of participants, was opened by a similar procession. Dmitry Yuryevich, a Kuban Cossack athlete who was also present, is from the small town of Temryuk.
During the event, the young Cossacks interacted with Pirog, receiving autographs at the end of the meeting. The champion, in turn, was presented with a book by the museum.
The "About People of Kuban - About the Strength of Russia" project aims to show young people that if they strive for something, they can achieve it. Such events, including the one at the Felitsyn Museum, help young people learn from famous athletes and contributors to the Cossack region and Russia.
