Gold Coast Welcomes New Students with $100,000 in Grants

The Gold Coast is set to welcome new international students with open arms and a financial boost. The city is offering 100 grants worth $1,000 each to help cover early relocation costs, such as textbooks and housing. This initiative is part of the Gold Coast's commitment to becoming a top-tier destination for international news and education.

The Gold Coast New Student Grants program is open to new students commencing studies between 11 August 2025 and 31 March 2026. To qualify, applicants must hold or have lodged a valid Student Visa (subclass 500) and be enrolled at an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution for at least 24 academic weeks. Notably, students already in Australia or studying at other institutions are not eligible.

Shafston International College, among other institutions associated with the Gold Coast educational network, is a recognized member and offers various English and vocational courses. The offer is limited to the first 100 qualified applicants.

The Gold Coast New Student Grants program aims to assist new international students in settling into life on the Gold Coast. With 100 grants worth $1,000 each up for grabs, the city is demonstrating its commitment to attracting and supporting international news and education.
