In a strategic gathering on Wednesday, Minister of Education, Eng. Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, convened with representatives from the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and the Public Authority for Sports to discuss collaborative efforts geared toward bolstering school sports activities.

According to reports by Al-Rai daily, the meeting resulted in an agreement to establish a joint working group, responsible for generating a comprehensive plan for launching a wide-ranging sports league across schools.

The KOC delegation, led by Deputy CEO for Planning and Innovation, Mohammed Khalifa Abdul Jalil, and Director of Public Relations and Media Group, Mohammed Al-Basri, participated in the meeting. Also present were Director of the Public Authority for Sports, Bashar Abdullah, Head of Local Relations, Mishaal Al-Mazyad, and Acting Deputy Director General for the "Sports for All" Sector, Haya Al-Dhaham.

The main focus of the discussions revolved around strengthening partnerships between the three institutions to stimulate student involvement in sports and nurture talent through school-based programs. The proposed league aspires to cultivate a thriving sports culture within the educational system.

The working group has been tasked with presenting a detailed vision for the school sports league within two weeks. This vision will detail the responsibilities of each party and recommend viable means for executing a well-structured league designed to prioritize student engagement and athletic development.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Education was represented at the meeting by Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Facilities and Planning, Eng. Mohammed Al-Khalidi, and Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Development and Activities, Maryam Al-Enezi.

The initiative's broad objective is to promote sports participation among students, enhance physical education, and foster young talent across various sports. The involvement of major organizations like KOC and the Public Authority for Sports hints at a substantial commitment to improving sports infrastructure and fostering sports participation at the school level.
