Greetings to the urban squad!
In the heart of Bavaria, Landshut city administration has welcomed 43 young talents who have begun their training this year. The new apprentices will be working across various departments, contributing to the city's daily operations and ensuring Landshut remains a livable city.
The city offers a diverse range of apprenticeships, including IT specialist, public service assistant, construction draftsperson, fireman, caregiver in the municipal homes, and educator. The Landshut Clinic, a significant part of the city corporation, also offers apprenticeships.
This year, the city administration has 12 apprentices, with 4 starting a dual study program. At the city works, there are 12 apprentices, and at the Holy Spirit Hospital Foundation, 10 apprentices are learning a trade. Additionally, 5 young people are doing an internship or vocational training in the inner administration.
The mayor, in his welcome address, emphasized the importance of the apprentices in the city corporation. He noted that digitalization can increase efficiency but cannot replace personal contact in certain bureaucratic procedures. The mayor also highlighted that the apprentices are ambassadors of the city's future and encouraged them to share their ideas and perspectives for the further development of Landshut.
The training offers various career opportunities across multiple professional fields. For those interested, the training opportunities can be found on the city's applicant portal at www.our website/ausbildung.
Organizations offering apprenticeships for young people in Landshut include the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bayern Süd, which offers training for commercial clerks in office management starting September 1, 2026, and the Landratsamt Landshut, which provides apprenticeships for administrative clerks and dual training in the civil service.
The personnel council representatives welcomed the new apprentices and assured them of their best possible support. The mayor, in his closing remarks, congratulated the apprentices, stating their choice of apprenticeship is an opportunity to contribute to the shaping of the city. For the year 2025, the city is seeking new young talent, and the training opportunities will continue to be available.
Much of the work in the administration is diverse and significant, contributing to Landshut remaining a livable city. The mayor emphasized that the apprentices play a crucial role in this process, ensuring the city's daily life aspects, including education, childcare, infrastructure, culture, economy, integration, and environmental protection, run smoothly.
