Historical Tech Centre Excursion by Local Families in Halle's City Utilities Museum
The Historical Technology Center (HTZ) of Halle Utilities is set to reopen its doors on August 16, 2025, inviting families to an exciting day of learning and entertainment. Located in the former transformer station at Turmstraße on Lutherplatz, the center will transform into an experience space from 1 to 5 PM.
This special event, dubbed the Family Day, will offer a variety of interactive activities for all ages. The SWH Discovery Station will provide 12 engaging stations on topics such as energy, waste disposal, informatics, and mobility. Visitors can learn how to charge a smartphone with a hand crank or power a game console with a bicycle.
The Measurement Lab, another highlight of the event, will take visitors on a journey through the world of measurement. From exploring questions like "How high can a penguin jump?" to "Where on Earth does one weigh the most?", the Lab promises to be a fun and educational experience.
For the younger visitors, there's a coloring and crafting street, giant soap bubbles, and a duck giveaway for the first 100 guests. The Historical Exhibition, showcasing the technical history of Halle (Saale), will also be a part of the event.
In addition to these attractions, there will be a tram simulator for visitors to practice driving. Correct answers to quiz questions on the learning modules can earn great prizes.
It's worth noting that the Rotary Duck Race, a separate event, will take place on August 30, 2025, at the Saale beach at Ziegelwiese.
Admission to the Historical Technology Center's event is free, making it an ideal outing for families looking for a fun and educational day out. For more detailed information about the interactive activities or learning modules available for visitors, we recommend checking Halle Utilities' official website or contacting their community relations or events department.
