HOLT Truck Centers, the authorized International and Idealease dealer in Oklahoma, North Texas, and East Texas, has stepped up to support the future of the skilled trades workforce. The company, led by senior vice president Robert Fulgium, is proud to announce a significant donation to address the growing technician shortage in the diesel industry.

HOLT Truck Centers has donated five heavy-duty Chevrolet trucks to three Oklahoma schools: Tulsa Tech, Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (OSUIT), and Metro Technology Centers in Oklahoma City. This generous contribution aims to enhance diesel technician training and strengthen the workforce pipeline.

The donated Chevrolet trucks, each weighing over 50,000 pounds and equipped with advanced systems, will provide students with hands-on learning experiences in hybrid and electric systems. This real-world training will help bridge the gap between theory and practice, better preparing students for their future careers.

Industry experts predict a significant shortage of technicians in the coming years. According to TechForce Foundation's 2024 Technician Supply and Demand Report, the United States will need more than 249,000 new techs by 2028 to meet demand.
