Immigration Canada Issues 503 ITAs to PNP Candidates in Latest Draw

In its fifth draw of May 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 503 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. This brings the total number of ITAs issued through the Express Entry system in 2025 to 38,845.

The specific criteria for candidates to be enrolled in the Express Entry pool for 2026 are not yet detailed. However, eligibility for Express Entry requires meeting minimum requirements in one of the federal economic immigration programs, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Canadian Experience Class. Factors like age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability are considered.

The draw on May 30, 2025, was dedicated to PNP candidates. To be considered, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 742 and had created an Express Entry candidate profile before 9:44 p.m., Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on May 30, 2025.

So far in 2025, there have been a total of 17 draws focused on PNP candidates. Two of these draws were for candidates in the Trade category, while five were for candidates with French-language proficiency. Four draws were for candidates in the healthcare and social services category, and one was for candidates in the Education category. Nine draws have been dedicated to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates.

It is important to note that the Express Entry system aims to ensure that applicants submit complete, honest, and truthful information. Misrepresentation provisions are in place to prevent false information from being entered into the system. An applicant who is determined to have submitted false information when entering the Express Entry pool can be barred from re-entering the pool for five years. If the information provided in an application is found to be false, it may result in penalties.

Candidates who receive an ITA must respond to it with a complete application for permanent residence (PR) if they want to immigrate to Canada. Responding to an ITA is a crucial step in the immigration process, and it is important for candidates to ensure that their applications are complete and accurate.

The Express Entry system has been instrumental in managing the immigration process in Canada, allowing for a more efficient and streamlined system. With the ongoing draws and the high number of ITAs issued in 2025, it is clear that the Express Entry system continues to play a significant role in Canada's immigration process.
