International Moot Court competition, organized by RRU, scheduled for November; Registration is open for participants
Registration is now open for the 2nd RRU International Moot Court Competition (RIMC) 2025, an exciting event focused on international law and global security. Scheduled to take place from August 29 to 31, 2025, at the Rashtriya Raksha University's Gandhinagar campus, this competition promises a challenging and rewarding experience for law students.
Eligibility and Team Composition
Each team participating in RIMC 2025 must consist of three members: two speakers and one researcher. Only one team per law college is allowed, and the competition is open to 3-year and 5-year undergraduate law students.
Registration and Fees
Registrations for RIMC 2025 opened on April 15, 2025, and the last date for registration is September 5, 2025. The competition fee is INR 3000 (USD 35), and the accommodation fee is INR 5000 (USD 59). These fees are required to be paid only once for the entire contingent of three team members and an accompanying coach, if any.
Memorial Submission and Oral Rounds
Teams must submit their memorials (soft copies) by August 17, 2025 (or August 20, according to some sources). The oral rounds will be held from November 14 to 16, 2025. Only teams making it through to the In-Person Oral Rounds will be required to make the payment for accommodation.
Prizes and Recognition
The champion team will receive the Championship trophy and a cash prize of INR 90,000 (USD 1050). The runners-up team will receive the Runners-up trophy and a cash prize of INR 70,000 (USD 815). The team with the best memorial will receive a cash prize of INR 50,000 (USD 581). Speaker citations will be given to the top 5 speakers based on scores secured in the preliminary rounds.
Sub-Themes and Dispute Resolution Forum
The sub-themes of RIMC 2025 include Admissibility of claims when a State represents corporations before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Remedies for sanctioned third-country entities under international law, Trade of dual-use items under international law, and Non-compliance with the judgment of an international court. The dispute resolution forum of RIMC 2025 is the ICJ.

The release of the proposition and brochure is scheduled for July 15, 2025. The memorial submission deadline is September 20, 2025. The confirmation of the top 24 teams for oral rounds is scheduled for October 15, 2025. For queries, write an email to [email protected].
For Indian teams, participation is restricted to law students pursuing their three-year or five-year L.L.B. degree course from any recognized institution in India. Participants must be pursuing a degree or similar graduate or postgraduate qualification in law or a field related to international law or international relations, and have received adequate instruction in international law.
