IPS Colloquium Brings Global Alumni Together to Discuss Elections and Resilience
The International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) of the Bundestag recently held its annual colloquium in Berlin. This year's event brought together 64 alumni from 44 countries to discuss elections, disinformation, and resilience. The colloquium, which employed interactive formats, was hosted by the current Bundestag President Julia Klöckner, succeeding Wolfgang Schäuble who attended the reception in 2022.
The IPS program, established in 2005, has seen nearly 80 Kazakhs complete internships in German Bundestag MPs' offices. Today, Kazakh IPS alumni work in diverse fields, including NGOs, their own companies, and even the Bundestag itself. With over 3500 alumni worldwide, the IPS network plans to strengthen ties among alumni living in Germany by establishing regular online activities and organizing events.
The colloquium provided a platform for alumni to discuss democratic processes and foster collaboration. Interactive formats were employed to delve into complex topics and encourage open exchange.
The IPS program continues to play a significant role in fostering international understanding and cooperation. This year's colloquium, hosted by Julia Klöckner, demonstrated the program's enduring impact and the commitment of its alumni to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
