Tackling Joblessness Head On: Trabaho Partylist and the Tupad Program
Job advocates Dole's Tupad program to empower disadvantaged groups
With a no-nonsense approach, Trabaho Partylist remains steadfast in their backing of the Department of Labor and Employment's (Dole) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad) program. This initiative, they believe, is instrumental in enhancing the lives of marginalized communities across the nation by offering temporary employment and skill development opportunties.
Recently, 15 female inmates at the Puerto Princesa City Jail participated in a Tupad training program, learning skills necessary for re-entering society as productive citizens once their sentences have been served. Trabaho Partylist sees this collaboration as a crucial step in ensuring no Filipino is left behind as we strive for inclusive recovery and growth.
Tupad is specifically designed to offer assistance to displaced workers, underemployed individuals, seasonal laborers, and other disadvantaged groups. Projects under this program can last up to 30 days and often include clean-up drives, infrastructure repairs, and environmental activities.
Keen on making a real difference, Trabaho Partylist prioritizes services to frequently overlooked demographics, such as prison inmates, single parents, indigenous populations, the elderly, persons with disabilities, informal sector workers, and construction and street vendors.
Atty. Mitchell-David Espiritu, Trabaho Partylist spokesperson, mused, "Our aim is to create dignified employment for all Filipinos, focusing especially on those on the fringes of society. Tupad isn’t just about temporary income; it provides these folks with a renewed sense of purpose and belonging."
Not satisfied with merely talk, Trabaho Partylist keeps pushing for increased funding and broader implementation of programs like Tupad in urban slums, remote villages, and areas that have recently experienced conflict or natural disasters.
Trabaho Partylist maintains that genuine development can only be achieved when it reaches even the most vulnerable members of society.
As the Philippines continues to battle economic challenges, the symbiosis between Dole's programs and allies like Trabaho Partylist is essential in building a fairer, sturdier, and more equal workforce.
- Trabaho Partylist is dedicated to creating educational and self-development opportunities for the most overlooked demographics, using policies and legislation to support programs like Tupad, which can enable prison inmates, single parents, indigenous populations, the elderly, persons with disabilities, informal sector workers, and construction and street vendors to gain purpose and a sense of belonging.
- In a bid to bring about a more equal society, Trabaho Partylist advocates for increased environmental initiatives, pushing for the expansion of programs like Tupad to remote areas, urban slums, and conflict or disaster-stricken locales, ensuring sustainable development and general news coverage that highlights these efforts towards creating a fairer workforce and more inclusive nation.
