Malaysia Hosts the Finale of China-ASEAN Innovation Competition
The 3rd China-ASEAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition took place on July 30, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, marking a significant event in the pursuit of technological advancement and sustainable economic integration in the region. Co-hosted by China’s Ministry of Science and Technology and the ASEAN Secretariat, the competition attracted a diverse range of participants from multiple countries, including China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, among others.
A total of 19 outstanding projects advanced to the final round, each vying for recognition in the two competition tracks: startup teams and established companies. The competition focused on developments in artificial intelligence-driven industrial transformation and renewable energy technologies, reflecting a strategic focus on innovation that can drive economic growth while addressing environmental concerns.
In the end, the top three teams emerged victorious. LPBreath was crowned the winner, followed closely by LaGreeNovation as the 1st runner-up and InnoCrafters as the 2nd runner-up. These results were part of the broader final awards that recognised multiple teams across the two competition tracks.
Each finalist pitched their innovation using a "7+5" format, allowing for seven minutes of presentation and five minutes for judges' questions. The competition served as a strategic platform for cross-border technology collaboration, with the aim of accelerating China-ASEAN innovation partnerships and promoting sustainable economic integration across the region.
In addition to the first, second, and third prizes, eight projects earned "Cooperation Star" recognition, while seven were named "Innovation Stars." The competition is home to the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center (CATTC), which further supports the goals of the competition by facilitating technology exchange and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries.
