New academic year break times for students in Primorye region schools revealed
School Holidays for 2025-2026 Academic Year in Primorye, Russia, Announced
The regional government of Primorye has revealed the school holiday schedule for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. The announcement was made by Elvira Shamnova, Deputy Chairman of the Government and Minister of Education of Primorye, and reported by IA PrimaMedia.
The academic year will commence on September 1, 2025, traditionally known as Knowledge Day. The year will consist of four main periods of rest: autumn, winter, spring, and summer holidays.
The autumn holiday will be from October 25 to November 2, 2025, including public holidays on November 3 and 4. First-graders will enjoy an additional week of rest in February, with the exact dates to be determined by the schools.
The winter holidays will be a festive period, running from December 31, 2025, to January 11, 2026. The spring holiday will take place from March 28 to April 5, 2026.
The summer holiday will be a lengthy break, spanning from May 27 to August 31, 2026. This holiday period is typically around three months in length.
Schools in Vladivostok will not force parents to buy school uniforms, textbooks, and workbooks. However, the exact dates for the start of the autumn holiday for first-graders have not yet been specified.
For detailed and official dates, it is recommended to check the Primorye regional Department of Education website or local school announcements as they publish the detailed school calendar annually.
In addition, a shift will be organized at the regional children's center 'Yunna' for students in grades 5, 7, and 10, to prepare for the study of profile subjects. The academic year for students at the Far Eastern Federal University has been postponed to September 18, 2025, due to the holding of the Eastern Economic Forum (16+) on the university's territory.
The academic year will end on May 26, 2026, with the duration of the holidays being at least seven days. The exact dates for the winter and spring holidays follow the general Russian school holiday structure, with some slight variations in Primorye. The summer holiday, however, will generally adhere to the national schedule.
Engaging in education-and-self-development opportunities outside of school is crucial for students' growth. For instance, a shift will be organized at the regional children's center 'Yunna' for students in grades 5, 7, and 10, to prepare for the study of profile subjects.
