New Appointment: Patrick Pulsfort Assumes Pastorship in Hansühn and Hohenstein
Patrick Pulsfort, a former radio enthusiast turned theologian, is set to begin his new role as a pastor in the Ostholstein region, a move that brings him back to the area where he recently tied the knot with his wife.
The couple's civil wedding took place at Timmendorfer Strand in early April, just before Pulsfort's job offer in Ostholstein. The location, near the Hansapark, holds special significance as it was the place of their first date.
Pulsfort's journey from radio to theology is an interesting one, but specific details about his career path remain elusive. However, it is known that he was ordained as a pastor by Bishop Nora Steen in Schleswig on April 27th.
Before his theological studies, Pulsfort worked in the youth section of a local newspaper and had his own internet show. His love for France led him to work as a volunteer group interpreter in Marseille for two years. It was during this time that he met a young woman named Ute from Cologne, who introduced him to Christianity and led him to participate in a faith course at her evangelical-reformed church.
Pulsfort's beliefs about recognizing individual talents and freeing oneself from the claim of doing everything equally well have been instrumental in his approach to his new role. He is convinced that the "church community full program" at all locations is not sustainable due to resource limitations.
In his new position, Pulsfort will be active in the two churches of the Bungsberg parish from May. He hopes for good interaction with the congregations of Lensahn and Schönwalde and pastors Jörg Reimann and Hans Hillmann.
Pulsfort's introductory and welcoming service will take place on Wednesday, May 7th at 6:30 PM in the Christuskirche in Hansühn. He advocates for allowing communities to develop their own profile, a belief he formed during his time at the seminary.
As he embarks on this new chapter, Pulsfort remains optimistic about his interactions with the congregations and the challenges that lie ahead. His communicative talent, honed from his days in radio and journalism, will undoubtedly be an asset as he seeks to spread the message of Jesus Christ in his new role.
In his new role as a pastor, Patrick Pulsfort might find opportunities for education-and-self-development and career-development within the church community, utilizing skills gained from his past experiences in radio, journalism, and theology. As he interacts with the congregations of Lensahn and Schönwalde, he may advocate for empowering individuals to free themselves from the claim of doing everything equally well, promoting personal growth in both the religious and professional context.
