NKU & Duke Energy Launch Duke Energy Innovation Lab for Green Energy Learning

Northern Kentucky University (NKU) and Duke Energy have joined forces to create the Duke Energy Innovation Lab. This new space, located in NKU's Griffin Hall, will serve as a hub for student projects, a teaching and learning space, and a destination for K-12 students seeking hands-on experiences. The lab is set to open with a ribbon cutting on April 3, 2023, at 3 p.m.

NKU President Dr. Ashish Vaidya and Duke Energy's President of Ohio/Kentucky, Amy Spiller, have expressed their excitement about the partnership. Dr. Cady Short-Thompson, NKU's president, is proud of this collaboration, believing it will foster creativity, collaboration, and technological advancement among students.

The Duke Energy Innovation Lab features the latest Internet of Things (IoT) technology, with a particular focus on green energy. This state-of-the-art facility will provide students with real-world experience and the opportunity to work on projects that could shape the future of energy.

The Duke Energy Innovation Lab, a result of the partnership between NKU and Duke Energy, is poised to open its doors on April 3, 2023. This lab will serve as a unique learning space, equipping students with cutting-edge technology and hands-on experience in the realm of green energy.
