NOUN to Host First MoodleMoot Nigeria, Boosting Digital Leadership
National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is set to host the first-ever MoodleMoot conference in Nigeria, following successful events in South Africa. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, aims to boost the institution's digital ranking and leadership in education technology through this event.
NOUN's Moodle-based system currently serves over 170,000 students, offering cutting-edge learning analytics and hybrid delivery models built on open-source tools. The 3rd MoodleMoot Africa 2025 conference, scheduled for Abuja from Oct. 8 to Oct. 10, will demonstrate NOUN's continental leadership in Open and Distance Learning (ODL).
Expected to attract around 400 delegates, the conference will include vice-chancellors, software developers, and government officials from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and other African and international countries. The event is poised to be one of the best organized by NOUN, showcasing its Moodle-powered learning innovations to a global audience.
The MoodleMoot Abuja 2025 conference is not just a gathering but a platform for NOUN to enhance its institutional digital ranking and influence policy in Africa's EdTech space. With delegates from 24 countries, including 18 African nations, the event promises to put NOUN's digital leadership on the global map.
