Park University Expands Presence in Arizona with New Campus

Park University, a respected institution with a 143-year-old mission to provide affordable and sought-after degree programs, is set to increase its footprint in Arizona. The university's President, Greg Gunderson, has expressed excitement about this expansion.

On October 15, 2018, Park University opened a campus center in Gilbert, Arizona, marking its third location in the state and the 42nd in its system. The new campus, known as the Gilbert Campus, is located in the Heritage District at 92 W. Vaughn Ave.

The Gilbert Campus offers a variety of degree programs, including Undergraduate programs in Business Administration/Management, Communication Studies, Criminal Justice Administration, and Fitness and Wellness, as well as Graduate programs in Master of Business Administration, Master of Education in Education Technology, Master of Education in Educational Leadership with Principal Certification, Master of Healthcare Administration, and Master of Public Administration.

Park University plans to serve adult learners in accelerated, eight-week evening classes during the first year of operations at the Gilbert Campus. By the end of year three, the university projects an enrollment of more than 300 students at the Gilbert Campus.

In addition to its evening classes, Park University plans to add traditional 16-week classes during the day at the Gilbert Campus. The university expects to have 12 intercollegiate athletics programs beginning in Fall 2019 at the Gilbert Campus, including men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball, golf and cross country, as well as baseball (men) and softball (women). Park University plans to use existing community sports venues for practices and home contests.

Gilbert Mayor Jenn Daniels has expressed support for Park University's plans to immerse themselves in the community. The Higher Learning Commission and the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education have approved Park University to begin offering classes in Gilbert commencing with the Fall II 2018 term.

Park University currently serves 16,500 students annually. More generally, the university offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs with strong accreditation, reflecting academic standards across its campuses.
