Löhne-Obernbeck Primary School was honored with the title "Healthy School"

"Primary School Löhne-Obernbeck recognized as a 'Healthy School'"

The Wittekindskreis district healthcare department has honoured several schools for their commitment to promoting health and well-being among students and staff. The "Healthy Schools in the Wittekindskreis" program, running for nine years, offers schools assistance in implementing health promotion and prevention activities.

The central importance of health as a prerequisite for successful learning, personal development, and social participation is well-recognised. This year, the Ev. Grundschule Löhne-Obernbeck, Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg in Herford, Grundschule in Westerenger, and Erich-Kästner-Gesamtschule with its locations in Bünde and Kirchlengern have been awarded as "Healthy Schools".

Pascal Kramer, a sports scientist, and Renata Lleshi, the project leader of the "Gesundeschulprogramms im Wittekindskreis", were present to present the awards. The Grundschule Löhne-Obernbeck, in particular, has been praised for its efforts in promoting health, with various activities implemented with the support of external specialists. These activities include dealing with dental health, healthy nutrition, a healthy breakfast, and social training.

Renata Lleshi, an employee of the Herford District healthcare department, expressed her delight with the Ev. Grundschule Löhne-Obernbeck. She explained that the district healthcare department is happy to support schools in their efforts to promote health and prevent health issues.

Schools that implement at least three health-promoting measures and one measure for the health of teaching staff during the project period can be awarded as a "Healthy School". The "Healthy Schools" program offers free individual and group offers for students and teaching staff. It also provides an overview of contact points in the Herford district for advice on "growing up healthily" and "teaching healthily".

Schools play an important role in teaching children and young people about the importance of health and taking care of it. During stressful learning phases, these exercises are particularly beneficial for students. Pascal Kramer, a sports scientist and trainer in the "link moves" program, led various exercises for students, aiming to improve coordination, concentration, learning ability, and motivation.

Interested schools can obtain information about the "Healthy Schools" program for the current school year from the business office of the health conference or from project leader Renata Lleshi. Renata Lleshi's contact information is available at 05221 13-2419 and r.lleshi@unser website. The program, supported by the district healthcare authority, is led by Dr. Martina Becker.
