Pupils in Turkestan opt out of using mobile devices during school hours.
The city's education department has announced the implementation of an innovative project, the "School without an iPhone". This initiative, aimed at developing students' skills in the rational use of free time, is a significant step for the future generation's formation.
The project's rules and control measures are designed to minimise the harm iPhones cause to the educational environment. The prohibition applies to using iPhones during lessons without the teacher's permission. Special boxes for storing iPhones have been installed in each classroom to facilitate this.
Kazakhstan's Minister of Education and Science, Kanat Beisenbayev, explained the reason for the iPhone restrictions in schools. He stated that the project aims to enhance students' attention and psycho-emotional state, as the use of iPhones often distracts children.
The initiative is supported on a voluntary basis by parents, teachers, and students. It aims to strengthen interpersonal relationships among students, redirect students' attention to knowledge and education, and contribute to the formation of a conscious, educated citizen.
The project intends to improve the quality of education by encouraging students to focus on the material being studied during lessons. After classes or during non-academic time, students have the right to take their iPhones and contact their parents.
The "School without an iPhone" project is not a new concept in Kazakhstan. Cities such as Almaty and Nur-Sultan have already implemented it successfully. The school's primary goal is to educate and provide quality knowledge, and this project is a significant contribution towards that goal.
The project considers small steps as essential for the formation of a conscious, educated citizen. It is an initiative that encourages everyone to support it and spread the word. By promoting a more focused learning environment, the "School without an iPhone" project is set to make a positive impact on the educational landscape in Kazakhstan.
