Boris FX Unveils a Bounty of Product Updates and New Features
In a year marked by innovation and expansion, Boris FX has released several significant updates to its key software suites in 2023 and 2024. The focus has been on integrating AI technology, enhancing cinematic and visual effects capabilities, and making sophisticated VFX tools accessible for both standalone use and as plugins for popular editing platforms.
Sapphire 2024 leads the charge with a new "Builder" feature, boasting revamped time effects and 18 advanced presets. New effects introduced in Sapphire 2024 include S_Dust, perfect for adding cinematic ambiance to CGI scenes, and S_PixelMosh, a digital glitch video effect offering unique creative distortion.
Boris FX Optics 2024 is now available both as an Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom plugin as well as a standalone application. This update empowers photographers and artists to create cinematic photos using Boris FX's visual effects technology.
Silhouette 2023 integrates the Stability node, which leverages AI models from Stability Diffusion directly into the software, enabling advanced AI-assisted rotoscoping and effects.
Boris FX Continuum, a long-standing plugin suite, continues to offer extensive creative freedom through over 300 effects, 40 transitions, and 5000+ presets optimized for high performance. It includes AI-powered tools for noise reduction, image upscaling, film textures, broadcast transitions, and the Particle Illusion 3D particle emitter.
The 2024 release of Continuum includes a DeNoise ML effect, UpRes ML effect, and the ability to generate custom AI sprites inside Particle Illusion.
CrumplePop 2024 features significant sound quality boosts thanks to next-gen AI models on its popular noise, traffic, wind, rustle & clipping removal tools.
In April 2023, the Boris FX Suite was expanded with the release of CrumplePop. In October 2023, the Boris FX Suite was updated to include CrumplePop and SynthEyes, SynthEyes 2024, and Particle Illusion Standalone (free). Particle Illusion Standalone was made available for free in May 2023.
The Boris FX Hub, launched in October 2023, simplifies the user experience by allowing easy installation of products, management of licenses, staying current with releases, and taking free trials. The Boris FX Hub is available for download on both Windows and Mac.
Boris FX has also introduced Continuum Essentials and Silhouette Essentials, two new free training series, to help users master these powerful tools.
Boris FX products have been used in popular shows and videos like The Last Of Us, Ted Lasso, Hawkeye, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Jonkari P's meme videos, and more.
In September 2023, Optics 2024 was released, and in June 2023, Continuum FCP: 2023.5 and CrumplePop 2023.5 were launched. CrumplePop and SynthEyes are also available as standalone products.
Lastly, Boris FX hosted its first in-person customer appreciation event since the pandemic, further cementing its commitment to the creative community.
