Refreshed look for the BEKI unveiled
Baden-Württemberg's BEKI Initiative Celebrates 45 Years of Promoting Conscious Children's Nutrition
After 45 years of promoting conscious children's nutrition, the BEKI initiative continues to thrive in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Under the Ministry of Food, Rural Areas, and Consumer Protection, this state initiative has made significant strides in fostering nutritional competencies among professionals and parents.
The BEKI initiative is carried out by a team of freelance nutrition professionals, known as BEKI lecturers, who deliver a wide range of educational programmes across the region. These offerings include parent events, school lessons, action days, and training for pedagogical and household professionals, teachers, and childminders.
Over the years, the BEKI initiative has reached more than 50,000 children, parents, and professionals annually, with more than 530 kindergartens in Baden-Württemberg successfully obtaining the BEKI certificate. Minister Peter Hauk expressed pride in this achievement and welcomed each additional kindergarten that joins the BEKI family.
Recently, the BEKI logo underwent a refreshing makeover, adopting a vibrant state yellow colour. This rebranding effort has made the BEKI logo more recognisable as part of the statewide umbrella brand 'The Whole State at the Table. Good Nutrition for Baden-Württemberg'.
Minister Hauk emphasised the importance of initiatives like BEKI, stating that their success lies in promoting role models who can inspire healthy eating habits in children. As the BEKI initiative continues to grow and evolve, its commitment to fostering a healthier generation remains unwavering.
