Robert R. "Bob" Meyer, a distinguished veteran who served in both the United States Air Force and the United States Coast Guard Reserves, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in New York City, Bob began his military career in the United States Air Force, where he served as a personnel specialist. He completed four years of active duty and two years in the reserves before moving on to the New York City Transit Police and the New York City Police Department.
In 1968, Bob moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he joined the Albuquerque Police Department. After a distinguished career, he retired and took on a new role as a security officer with the Honeywell Corporation.
Bob's military service in the Coast Guard Reserves spanned an impressive 24 years, culminating in his retirement with the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. However, limited publicly available information has been found regarding his service in the Coast Guard Reserves and his exact ranks held in both the Air Force and Coast Guard Reserves.
Bob is survived by his wife Carol, their children Theresa, Eric, Claremarie, Andrew, Michael, Melissa Gerrard, Carolyn Gallagher, and grandchildren Sydney, Lauryn, Meagan.
