Russian Museums Compete to Preserve Great Patriotic War History
Over 2,300 museums from 82 Russian regions competed in the 'Know to Remember' competition, aiming to preserve the memory of the Great Patriotic War. Initiated by 'United Russia', the contest saw 169 finalists, including the military-historical center 'Steps of Memory' from Komsomolsk-on-Amur and the museum 'Heirs' from School No. 3 in the village of Hor.
The competition's initiator, Vladimir Vasilievich Tsvetkov, praised the participants' dedication to preserving history. Two museums from the Khabarovsk region emerged victorious. The 'Heirs' museum, located in a rural setting, was named the 'Best Rural Museum'. Meanwhile, the 'Steps of Memory' center, situated in an urban area, won the 'Best Urban Museum' category.
The 'Steps of Memory' center and the 'Heirs' museum were also recognized as the overall best among the finalists. Their dedication to showcasing the Great Patriotic War's history and its significance has been commended.
