Santa Cristina, Santa Croce, Vergano, Corso Roma, and Santo Stefano are considering consolidating pre- and post-school services due to insufficient enrollments for the upcoming 2025/26 school year. This consolidation typically occurs when individual sites have low student numbers, making separate services economically or practically unsustainable.

The consolidation may impact families and students in several ways. Changes in location or timing of care could require adjustments in transportation and schedules. A merged group of students might affect the availability of resources and staff attention. However, the consolidation could potentially reduce costs and improve efficiency for the managing institution.

For the 2025/26 school year, such changes might reflect demographic shifts, economic considerations, or policy decisions responding to declining enrollment in these areas. To get precise reasons and implications, local school district announcements, municipal communications, or education department reports from the specific regions would be authoritative sources.

Enrollment requests for pre and post-school services have been received by the municipal protocol office. However, requests for pre-school in Vergano, Corso Roma, and "Lucchini" in Santo Stefano, as well as after-school in Corso Roma's kindergarten, have been denied due to the small number of students.

The municipal administration will provide pre-school services in some schools due to lower-than-expected registration numbers, with a minimum of 10 registrations required for kindergarten. Similarly, post-school services will be offered in some schools with a minimum of 15 registrations required for primary school.

The deadline for enrollment in pre and post-school services for the 2025/26 school year has passed. In Santa Cristina, the pre-school of the primary school and the kindergartens in Santa Cristina, Santa Croce, Vergano, Corso Roma, and "Lucchini" in Santo Stefano have insufficient enrollments for pre-school services. Pre-school will be operational in Santa Croce by grouping kindergarten and primary school students, totaling 24 children.

In Santa Cristina, the after-school service will group kindergarten and primary school students (33 in total). The municipal administration recognizes the value of family requests for pre and post-school services as a community need and will assume the financial burden for these services from the municipal budget.

The municipal administration also intends to promote school attendance in the outskirts. They deem it useful to support services that can facilitate school attendance, emphasizing their commitment to providing quality education for all students in the region.

  1. Due to insufficient enrollments in pre-school services, Santa Croce will consolidate kindergarten and primary school students, which might affect the average number of students and the distribution of resources for these children.
  2. The municipal administration, recognizing education and self-development as important community needs, will assume the financial burden for pre and post-school services and promote school attendance in outlying areas, aiming to improve access and quality for all students.
