"Schoolchildren find Russian language challenging"

In a study presented by "Gazeta.Ru," ninth-graders and every fifth graduate from Russian schools identified the Russian language as the most challenging subject in the OGE and EGE programs. Mathematics, considered difficult by 25% of ninth-graders, and profile mathematics (17% among 11th-graders) ranked second in difficulty.

Social studies was also named difficult by 10% of ninth-graders and 15% of graduates. Interestingly, social studies is one of the most popular elective subjects, with 44% of OGE participants and 38% of EGE participants choosing to take it this year.

Most students attributed the success in their exams to dedication and knowledge rather than luck, with 85% believing the outcome depended on the quality of preparation and information learned. The majority of ninth-graders dedicated 1-2 hours per day to studying, while 38% of 11th-graders spent 3-4 hours preparing.

Yet, students also considered luck and stress level as significant factors. To manage stress, high school students often turned to adequate rest and sleep (61%), listening to music or podcasts (58%), and communicating with friends and family (47%).

Data from Moscow, reported by Zoya Oskolkova for RIA "Novy Day."

While the specific study and its details from Gazeta.Ru were not provided, it's worth noting that subjects such as mathematics, physics, and foreign languages are commonly considered challenging for students worldwide, including those in Russia. The challenges for the OGE, focusing on primary education, may vary, while the EGE, a state exam for high school students, may also include difficult subjects like physics and foreign languages, along with the specified Russian language and mathematics. The study, if available, could provide more in-depth insights regarding the challenges faced by Russian students in these programs.

In the realm of education-and-self-development, students findings mirror a general trend where mathematics, alongside the Russian language, emerges as a frequent challenge for both ninth-graders and graduates in their studies. However, it's important to note that learning extends beyond these subjects, as many students attribute their success to the quality of their preparation and knowledge acquired.
