Shaping the Course of Tomorrow Together
In a significant milestone, Lehigh University's GO Beyond: The Campaign for Future Makers has surpassed the $1 billion mark as of June 30, marking the end of the fiscal year. This impressive achievement was made possible by the collective investments of time, talent, and financial support from the community.
The campaign, which aims to raise $1.25 billion, has so far allocated $297,390,600 for scholarships and financial aid, reducing financial barriers to education and expanding access to a life-changing education. As a result, 355 new endowed scholarships have been created, but 895 more are needed to reach the goal.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation made a substantial contribution of $423,739,942 towards the student experience area at Action GO Beyond. This donation has inspired the creation of vibrant campus hubs like the reimagined Clayton University Center at Packer Hall.
Beyond scholarships and student experiences, the campaign has also enabled research that would not have been possible without community support. $285,245,814 was allocated for research, capital projects, and faculty support.
Carol Packard, the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, has been at the forefront of this campaign. She has been speaking with students and faculty about the impact of the campaign and encouraging the community to recognise the enduring ways their actions have changed lives at Lehigh.
More than 63,000 alumni, parents, students, and friends have contributed to the campaign. As Carol Packard emphasises, "The campaign has been a testament to the power of collective action and the generosity of our community. We are grateful for everyone who has contributed and encouraged others to join us in making a difference."
With the campaign still $250 million away from its total goal of $1.25 billion, the community is invited to continue supporting this transformative initiative. The campaign's success is a shining example of what can be achieved when a community comes together to support education and research.
