Singapore-based AIA unveils its premiere sustainability report for 2024, showcasing advancements in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives, coupled with a focus on mental health and comprehensive wellness.
AIA Singapore has unveiled its AIA Sustainability Report 2024, titled "Sustaining Healthier, Longer, Better Lives," emphasising the company's commitment to health protection, mental health, and wellness, all within a broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework.
The report highlights several significant initiatives, including the launch of the market-first AIA Ultimate Critical Cover. This comprehensive and affordable critical illness plan is designed to close the protection gap, particularly for younger policyholders, by offering a unique reset benefit that restores coverage after a claim.
In addition, the report reveals that AIA Singapore has expanded inpatient plans to include mental health care at no extra cost for over 1.3 million covered employees. This move demonstrates a commitment to inclusive health protection and addressing mental health concerns.
The report also emphasises the importance of digital access in mental health care. AIA Singapore has partnered with WhiteCoat to provide telemedicine, home-based health screenings, mental wellness services, and paediatric care for over 1 million insured customers. This partnership supports AIA's Think Well platform, which promotes mental well-being across its customer base.
In terms of wellness, AIA Vitality, AIA Singapore's wellness programme, has supported over 100,000 members in living Healthier, Longer, Better Lives by rewarding fitness milestones with exclusive benefits. By the end of 2024, a majority of members had improved key health indicators, and internal employee engagement with the platform increased, with more members achieving higher status levels like silver and platinum.
Wong Sze Keed, CEO of AIA Singapore, stated that sustainability is integral to their operations and future planning. Liu Chun Yen, Chief Investment Officer and Head of Sustainability at AIA Singapore, also emphasised the importance of ESG governance.
The AIA Sustainability Report 2024 covers topics under Corporate Responsibility, Policy & Finance, with a global, Singaporean, and Southeast Asian focus. The report also addresses mental health concerns and can be accessed in various regions, including globally, Singapore, and Southeast Asia.
Furthermore, AIA Singapore has advanced blended finance initiatives in Asia and enhanced its investment approach through the AIA Sustainable Multi-thematic Fund and the Osmosis Resource Efficient Core Equity Fund.
