SMIC & TESDA Team Up to Boost Job Skills & Opportunities
SM Investments Corporation (SMIC) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have joined forces to boost job and skills development opportunities. The partnership aims to enhance the J.O.B.S. program, which has already connected over 180,000 job seekers with employers nationwide.
SMIC's President and CEO, Frederic C. DyBuncio, is driving this initiative to expand the reach and impact of the J.O.B.S. program. Since its launch in 2024, the program has hosted over 300 job fairs across the country, hiring 24,000 applicants on the spot.
To further strengthen the program, SMIC is scaling up its efforts by partnering with TESDA. This collaboration will integrate accredited training into the J.O.B.S. program, ensuring job seekers gain relevant skills and certifications. TESDA's Deputy Director, Nelly Dillera, highlights the program's role in promoting sustainable livelihoods.
In addition to this partnership, SMIC has broadened its collaborations to include sector-focused job fairs and collaborations with the Department of Health (DOH). The company has also actively participated in career fairs organized by the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP).
Through its partnership with TESDA and other organizations, SMIC's J.O.B.S. program continues to grow and adapt, providing more job seekers with opportunities and employers with skilled talent. The integration of accredited training further enhances the program's value, setting it on track to achieve even greater success in the future.
