Social Media Management Skills for Educators: Altai Region Teachers to be Trained on Handling Own Social Network Profiles

Social Media Training Boosts Teacher Profiles in Altai Krai

In a digital age, teachers from Altai Krai are diving into the world of social media, thanks to a regional project titled "Teacher's Personal Brand in Social Networks." This initiative, run jointly by ANO "Dialogue of Regions" and the CTR, has brought together educators from five Siberian regions.

Out of 200 applications, only ten teachers from Altai Krai made the cut for this cutting-edge program. They've been participating in tasks, receiving feedback, and exchanging experiences online, without interrupting their primary duties.

Irina Bzhitskikh, a teacher at the Biysk Lyceum-Internaat, shared her thoughts: "I appreciate the freedom and flexibility the online format offers. I can rewatch and listen whenever I want. I've already started making videos and creating cards to increase views. I've also set some personal goals to apply in real life."

Many residents of Altai Krai questioned the need for teachers to maintain social media profiles, fearing it would add extra burden to their already busy schedules. However, participants assure they've only embraced this initiative in their spare time.

Skeptics countered with concerns about teachers neglecting their main responsibilities: "When will teachers find time to teach children? The quality of education is falling each passing year!" and "When you're juggling multiple responsibilities, it's stressful!"

To clarify, the CTR confirmed that the project was aimed at those teachers who expressed curiosity. "Our specialists report positive feedback from the project participants, expressing their eagerness to participate in similar ventures," they stated.

This project can be broken down into three main components - workshops and training sessions, mentorship programs, and online communities. Teachers learn about social media platforms, content creation, and online presence management. They then have the opportunity to network, share resources, and collaborate on projects.

The project's objectives are numerous: it promotes professional development, builds a community of educators, and boosts student engagement with the use of digital tools. By enhancing their online presence, teachers gain confidence, expand their professional network, and innovate their teaching methods.

  1. The Social Media Training program, initiated by ANO "Dialogue of Regions" and the CTR, exposes educators to technological tools beyond traditional classrooms, providing opportunities for education-and-self-development.
  2. As Irina Bzhitskikh, a teacher from the Biysk Lyceum-Internaat, has found, engaging with social media platforms like entertainment-related networks can aid teachers in creating unique content, fostering innovation within their education methods.
