Three instructional classes designed to capture a student population of 400 individuals

In a recent high-level discussion round, Ohm President Professor Dr. Niels Oberbeck stressed the importance of Neumarkt in the university's long-term strategy. This strategic emphasis was also noted by the participating Bavarian Minister of Science and Arts Markus Blume and other notable figures.

The university is set to invest heavily in Neumarkt, with plans to accommodate around 400 students in a new university building. Alongside the existing bachelor's program "Management in the Eco-Branch," Ohm will soon offer a master's program "Sustainable Food and Resource Economics" and potentially another English-language bachelor's program "Sustainable Business & Management," tailored to regional and supraregional companies.

Research Partnerships in Neumarkt

Oberbeck highlighted the university's research activities bundled in the competence center "Sustainable Food and Resource Economics" at the Neumarkt campus. This application-oriented research involves local companies, organizations, and even the municipality. The university also anticipates further research and technology projects with regional, supraregional, and international partners and collaborates with the local startup accelerator Makers' Home.

Neumarkt aims to become a hub for science and business, with further education offerings and lecture series on sustainability topics a possibility. The city is also considering organizing an International Summer School.

The OTH is also planned to offer education programs in the observation tower on the LGS site, although specific courses have yet to be announced.
