UNITAR & Japan Invite Tanzanian, Zambian & Zimbabwean Youth to 'Developing Green Livelihoods' Training

UNITAR and the Government of Japan invite women and youth from Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe to apply for the 'Developing Green Livelihoods' training program. The six-month program, running from 4 September 2023 to 29 February 2024, is offered free of charge and aims to empower participants with skills in climate change adaptation, mitigation, and sustainable business development.

Applicants must be aged 18 to 35, computer literate, and have good English communication skills. They should also understand primary climate change issues in their countries and be committed to building a green business. The application process is simple and can be initiated at bit.ly/unitar-green-livelihood. Alongside the application, a recommendation letter must be provided.

The training program is divided into three phases. The first is an online training module covering climate change, adaptation, mitigation, and financial literacy. The second phase involves self-led projects and a virtual boot camp, encouraging hands-on learning. The final phase focuses on sustainability and community leadership, equipping participants with skills to lead green initiatives in their communities.

The deadline for applications is 4 September 2023. UNITAR and its partners will select applicants with the strongest applications, demonstrating a clear commitment to completing the program and a passion for building a greener future.
