UPPSC Regional Officer Selection Procedure 2025: comprehensive overview of all stages outlined
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the selection process for 411 vacancies of Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) posts. The process, known as the UPPSC RO ARO Selection Process 2025, consists of three main stages: Prelims, Mains, and Typing Test.
Prelims
The Prelims stage is a qualifying examination designed to shortlist candidates for the Mains. It consists of a single combined objective paper with 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The distribution is 140 questions on General Studies and 60 questions on General Hindi. The exam lasts for 3 hours, typically from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Candidates must score a minimum of 40% for general candidates and 35% for SC/ST candidates to qualify for the Mains. Negative marking is applicable, with 0.33 marks being deducted for each incorrect answer.
Mains
The Mains stage is the main ranking exam to shortlist candidates for the Typing Test. It is divided into three papers: General Studies, General Hindi and Drafting, and Hindi Essay. The General Studies paper consists of 120 questions for 120 marks and lasts for 2 hours. The General Hindi section lasts for 1 hour, while the Hindi Essay paper consists of 120 marks and lasts for 3 hours. There is no negative marking in the Mains exam.
Typing Test
The Typing Test is a qualifying skill test where candidates must demonstrate Hindi typewriting skills at a speed of 25 words per minute.
